Recycling & wastes
(General)
Spare plastic bags
:
Use plastic bags as bin-liners.
Scrunch them up and use them as padding in packaging.
Use them as 'doggy doo bags' when out walking your dog.
Use them when travelling to separate wet or dirty clothes from dry or clean clothes.

Paper
:
Discarded A4-sized paper can be cut and stapled together to make notepads.
Old envelopes you receive in the mail can be used a second time by placing a new address label over the last address. Old envelopes can also be used for scribbling down shopping lists, to-do lists, and notes.
To fill in a rainy day, get a paper recycling kit and get the kids to rip up old used paper to make recycled paper.

Computer equipment
: As it may contain toxic chemicals, try to avoid putting it in landfill.
If it is still working, it can be sold on ebay, or another online auction, or sold via your local paper.
If not working, donate it to a non-profit group who builds equipment for disadvantaged persons. There are thousands of these online.
Or donate to a local freecycle group member.
Or contact a local eco-salvage company that takes old computer equipment for a small fee.
