Using a car GPS when bushwalking: Even though the GPS unit that you use in your car will not have bushwalking maps, it can still be of use. You can use your GPS to store the location of landmarks, like carparks, camping grounds, or forks in a track. So if you get lost, you can use your GPS to help you get back to these locations.
